For the second part of Matthew and Cristin’s engagement session, we went to Seal Beach by the pier. I really loved showing their playful side together, as they swung on the swings and ran from the waves. As we walked along the pier, they told me the story of how they met, each one beaming as the other told their side of the story.
I’m always down to do pretty much whatever it takes to get the magic shot, which often means I get some serious bumps and bruises along the way. I’m pretty notorious for falling, tripping, slipping, etc. at some point in a photo session. Towards the end of our session, we were close to the water, under the pier. They were running towards me and away from the waves, for the fun playful shots you see below. This huge wave came and they started running really fast. I ran backwards as fast as I could to catch them on camera, then SMACK!!! I ran straight into the big beam of the pier. Whew! I’ve got a serious bruise on my arm, but I got the shot, so it all was worth it! Who knew that photography could be such a dangerous career! 😉
