What Day is Today Again?

I’m losing track of the days. Whew! It’s been a crazy week. I flew home this morning. It sure is easy to fly without kids! I checked my bag, jammed through the security check, and had plenty of time for Starbucks before my flight! It was a nice relaxing flight.

One quick note on my friends, I’m blessed with so many amazing people in my life. Thank you Robin Kraning, Amanda Quillen, and Danielle Brown for taking care of my boys. It was so nice to have peace of mind while I was away, knowing that you were taking such good care of them.

Via report from my mom: Kelli seemed to be doing really well today, much better than yesterday. Her nurse helped her to brush her teeth this morning, which she was ecstatic about! 🙂 One of her surgeons, Dr. G, came in this morning and removed the bandages from her neck, as well as the oxygen and some of the other bandages she had from surgery. He reassured us again, that the surgery went as perfectly as it could go. There were some risk factors having to do with this surgery, and they didn’t have any problems what so ever! After he came in, my mom was able to wash Kelli’s face, and her hair with waterless shampoo. For those of you who know Kelli, this was one of her main concerns, being able to wash her hair and brush her teeth! 🙂 After lunch, they got Kelli up to walk around on the floor for about 6-7 minutes. Then she promptly went back to bed to rest after her big exercise session.

The nurses and doctors are taking tremendous care of Kelli. Oakland Kaiser has turned out to be an amazing facility both in their knowledge and their compassion. Please continue prayers for the pathology report she will receive on Monday, as well as her pain level to be manageable.

Some of you have requested the information for Kelli’s hospital to send flowers or cards. She is still in the TCU unit, so she is not allowed to have flowers at this point. She’ll be home after Monday, if you’d like to send something to her there, you can e-mail me for the address, lorilynnnavarro@gmail.com.

As for me, I’m looking forward to a good night’s rest and some funny Thursday night T.V.
