Life gets too busy. Too busy to take time to notice the little things. I really miss taking pics of my kids, lately. Of course I take the daily snapshots on my phone, but it’s just not quite the same as documenting those ever fleeting moments with my camera. I just don’t seem to have the time, or take the time anymore. Early on, one of the reasons I was drawn to photography was because of my kiddos. Capturing every step, every smile, every “first” moment, was such a joy for me. As they are growing older, I am blown away by how fast the days go. Sometimes, I long for the simplicity of when they were little. When school work didn’t fill our days. When we had time to look for bugs crawling in the dirt. When we actually took time to pick and smell the roses. So, this Sunday afternoon I bought $1 squirt guns. You would have thought it was the best treasure ever. With fudge pop stained faces, they were easily entertained. Playing outside, being warriors, cartoon characters, brothers. I took a break from my never-ending list of “To-Do’s”, and just had fun capturing the simple joys of those sweet moments with my boys.
