The Lees were one of the very first families we met when we moved to Orange County, 4 years ago. Charles and Sandra shared early on in our friendship, that Sandra had been diagnosed with ALS. Sandra lost her battle with ALS 2 years ago, in June of 2013. She was a glorious light on this earth, and she touched and inspired many lives with her sweet spirit and loving, vibrant heart.
Charles’ nickname for Sandra was “nabi”, which is butterfly in Korean. The butterfly for Sandra, was a representation of God’s provision and presence in her life. Since her passing, butterflies are now a precious reminder to Charles and his sweet boys that her presence is not far away, and that God has a plan for all of them.
I had been talking about doing a photo session with Charles and the boys for about a year now. I really wanted it to be a special session, and when I found out about this butterfly park I was overjoyed. It was the perfect place to capture this wonderful family, and to remember their beautiful mother.
