Almost a year ago, we found out that my sister Kelli had tongue cancer. It has been a rough time for all of us, as we have seen her journey through this awful disease. Kelli is a fighter though. At a recent doctor’s appointment, her surgeon told her that her prognosis is good. Just a few months after concluding radiation, my sister is already beginning to speak out about her journey with oral cancer. She doesn’t want her experience to have been in vain, but wants to use it for a larger purpose in life. There has been a rapid increase in oral cancer in the last few years, and Kelli is joining with her dentist to help educate others about what causes oral cancer, and some ways to prevent it. I am so amazed by her, and how she wants to use her experience to help others! This is just the beginning, Kel! I know God is going to use you in amazing ways, as you begin to share your story.
